Going early is great but driving the road back through Paia at night is not that much fun. I would continue going around the mountain to hit Sunset up in Kula. That is the best. It's nore romantic and it's a sit down meal. You get to watch a different dance for every course of food. Old Lahaina Luau is great too, but expensive for a regular luau.
