My husband and I are traveling to Hawaii in June for the first time. We will be
staying on the big island, but want to do a lot of activities in Oahu. How will
we travel to the island. Ferry or plane. If Ferry, how long is the ride and
about how much?

Thanks!

Hello Shelley,

There is no ferry between the Islands yet. The Superferry is only running between Maui and Oahu.

If I understand you right, you want to fly back and forth between Oahu and the Big Island daily?

You will be wasting 3-4 hours every day this way. The flight is only about 25- 30 mins, but the wait time at airports…check in… security… not a very good thing to do.

You would be better off splitting your stay between the islands and doing Big Island activities on the Big Island while you are there and then stay in Oahu for the Oahu activities you want to do on Oahu.

If you are set on flying back and forth, Hawaii Airlines has inter-island flights and you can buy a small booklet of tickets. You can click the Hawaiian Air banner to find these.
