Oahu

20th June 2007

Oahu is the most populated island of Hawaii with a population of just under 1 million and the third largest island. Oahu is home to nearly 80% of the population of all the Hawaii islands. The state capitol is Honolulu which is on Oahu. So it is aptly nicknamed “The Gathering Place”.

Oahu is world renowned for it’s surfing on the 50+ miles of beaches and close to 600 places to ’surf’. The North Shore has been home to hundreds of ’surfing’ movies and documentories and the waves entice surfers from around the globe.

The interior of Oahu also holds many surprises for the Oahu visitor. Oahu is home to several state parks, the largest number of golf courses in Hawaii, the largest number of Historic sites and the most miles of beaches.

Oahu is the most cosmopolitan of all the islands and offers many of the same nightlife activities that any major U.S. city has to offer. You may choose to see a performance at one of the many theatres, enjoy dancing at the plentiful nightclubs or dine on one of the world class dinner cruises. The Polynesian culture also offers activities to do for the nightlife and you may prefer to enjoy one of the many luaus Oahu has to offer.

Oahu activities are plentiful and you can enjoy many activities ranging from parasailing, sport fishing, swimming with dolphins and swimming with the sharks to dinner cruises, sunset cruises and of course luaus.

Oahu has everything that any major US city offers so Oahu offers more fun and excitement to the visitor than any other Hawaiian island.
